Friday, February 22 | 6:30PM Kabbalat Shabbat | 7:30PM Dinner, Lecture and Q & A | 3rd Floor.
With all of the real challenges facing the world—climate change, the concentration of wealth, authoritarianism, bio-and info-technology, water and food scarcity, the plight of refugees, misogyny, racism, homophobia and more—is Judaism still relevant? Is religion? Cannot the case be made that religion is part of the problem? Alternatively, could it be part of the solution? Please join us for a talk and discussion, based on the recent writings of Doug Rushkoff, Yuval Harari, and Elaine Pagels. During this year of transition at Union Temple, an especially relevant discussion for us to be having. I hope you’ll join us! – Rabbi Mark Sameth
